Today is my Dad's birthday.
Tomorrow is my baby Sean's Happy Day-his first birthday. We are having a party. He has two bumps, one on each side of his forehead. He is so daring that he keeps getting injured. Tomorrow his pictures will all show his lums and bruises. I guess it just goes with being a one year old. He is really good at waving and saying 'hi'. He always waves with both hands. He is my beautiful little snuggle puppy. I am in love with my little Sean.
I can not believe that it is a year since he was born. I remember hating being away from Kate for four days while I was in the hospital but this little new boy certainly deserved our undivided attention for those first days in this new, bright, loud world. He is a joy and having both of my babies this last year has made it the very best year of my life. The year before was totally awesome with my Kate. She was our first miracle and she is a total joy. Having both of them now is just so beautiful. They play and entertain each other, they make each other giggle, they give kisses and love to each other and they make their Mommy and Daddy the happiest people on earth!
Now that we know that our family is complete I could not be more grateful for all that we have in our lives. It is a beautiful life.
Happy First Birthday Baby Sean. Your Mommy loves you. We all love you!!!
Sean is saying...Mama, Hi, up, out, uh oh, whoo hoo and he will mimick many sounds. He walks, he climbs, he runs and he loves to laugh and to cuddle!

Our babies rock!
We had a great breakfast at Cracker Barrel. They love pancakes! Sean sat back really far in his high chair, put his feet on the table and ate lots of pancakes! He looked like an emperor! My boy loves to chow down. He is the cutest, sweetest, smileiest, snuggliest baby boy in the world! He really hung on me all day. I think that he may be a little under the weather. He did have a temperature over the weekend but it didn't last long. I will keep an eye on my little guy.
Kate is such a Daddy's girl. She sat next to Daddy at breakfast and he looked after her and helped her with her blessed pancakes. kate is a bif girl now and really wants to show her independence. She still says "big girl, walk" when we arrive anywhere. i do try to let her walk. She likes it and it does make my life easier if she is listening to instructions. She will sit in the chair while I get adjusted at the chiro so I can keep her out of the stroller just like she wants. She has been bringing her little doggie with her a lot these days. It is a little black stuffed dog that Dennis and Ericka gave her. The dog (named, Dog) has a leash-she throws the dog to the ground and then drags him. It looks so darned cute. She is the most precious, sweetest little princess opn earth!

more Happy Cake
There has been a lot of driving going on around here! We went to Chicago on Thursday and then left for NJ that evening. The kids did great in the car yet again and are such little troopers. We spent the night along the way in a hotel in Youngstown, Ohio. We finished our journey on Friday and arrived in NJ ate afternoon/early evening. By the time we got to the Woodbridge Sheraton the kids were ready to explore. There were two large plants in the room that we had to barricade otherwise Sean would have ripped them apart. They both enjoyed the closes with the mirrored doors and they kept going in and out.
We took grandma out to the diner for dinner and then stopped to see Kimmy. The following day we headed out to Pat's for Mom's party and it was a success. It was perfect day weather wise and everyone had a good time. Kate and Sean had lots of fun. I can say with total certainly that it was the best day of Kate's little life. She played on the swings and slide all day. She jumped right in and climbed the ladder without any hesitation, it scared me so much and I stood close but she did just fine. Sure there were a couple of times when her foot slipped but she managed to hold on even if Daddy and I were worried.
The only thing that got her away from playing was birthday cake! Happy cake! Happy cake!!! katie took a candle out and licked it after Grandma blew out the candles.
Since we have been home Kate has been talking about everyone at the party Her cousins Pete and Josie, her Uncles Pat, Mike, Paul and Dennis (pronounced Nennis) and Debbie. Grandma and Melissa and Kim are also topics of conversation. She had so much fun and she is still going over it and talking about all.
We made it back to Indiana. The kids were tired of the car but behaved pretty well. I did notice that before we visited NJ Katie always said "YES". Now I hear her saying "Yeah" a lot

Ewwwwwwwww
A quick post. Babies are doing great. Sean is becoming more agile each day. He is still a little daredevil. He stood up in his high chair today and turned around. He held on to the back of the chair and then stood on the tray. I was right next to him just watching, curious to see how far he would go. I had to pick him up and stop the adventure! He loves Peek a Boo and he likes to be the one holding the blankie in front of his face. He loves being tickled by Kate and he is making more sounds, squeaks and squeals. He loves spaghetti!
Kate is saying new words every day. She is really starting to enjoy pretending. "I'm a toytull (turtle). Watch!" as she crawls on the floor. Today she said, "I'm a cowboy!" She helped me to put laundry away today and she was very proud of her work. She saw an image of a poopy diaper in Daddy's screen saver and she yelled. "Ewwwwwwww, yucky poopy, ewwwwwwww"!
Today at the hospital weigh in, a little boy around 18 months old fell down right in front of Kate. She bent down on one knee, patted him on the head, said "aaawwwwww'", looked up at his Mommy and said "cute baby". The other Mom just melted and so did I.

Uh Oh
Sean speaks! He has been saying Uh Oh for the last two days. The first time it happened, Katie and I were with Sean, he fell down and said "Uh oh". Kate looked at me with an enormous smile and laughed with delight. We were both so thrilled to hear Sean's new word. So far he says Mama and Uh oh!
Kate got Sean in her toy stroller today and wheeled him around the kitchen. They were both laughing. I took a short video and we watched it (over and over) and both kids were laughing while watching. They are enjoying playing with each other most of the time and I love to see them crack each other up.
We had to put the second gate back up by the front door. Sean was trying to slide under the gate and down the steps. Chris pulled him out but he kept going back and back to the steps. So while we enjoyed having the area more open, it is not practical at this time.
Kate loves Calliou. He has passed Elmo in her heart. She still loves Elmo but as far as watching TV goes, Calliou is the first choice. At night she has her Elmo doll that she cuddles up with to sleep. Kate sprawls out in her crib. Sean is more of a cuddle up in a ball kind of sleeper. He will also lie on his belly curled up to sleep. When Kate wakes up these days, I go get her and then she wants to climb into bed with Daddy. I go get her milk and bring it to her so she can drink it while snuggled up under the covers all cozy resting on the feather pillows. What a princess. She is a princess who adores Daddy. When he comes home at night it sets her off on a running and squealing spree around the kitchen and living room. She sure loves Daddy-we all do!

Daddy Too!
I got home tonight to a house full of raucous baby craziness. The girl was running from one end of the room to the other screaming unintelligible bursts of high pitched joy while the boy was moving with great haste towards me as if balancing on the high wire with a grin from ear to ear. Michelle has got a great job. After wrestling around with those two for a little while we decided to go pick up some Indian carry out. Once we got there Kate gave her usual, “big girl walk” bit so Michelle got her out of the van to accompany her into the restaurant. To my surprise I heard her say with every bit of persuasive skill she could manage “Daddy too! Daddy too!” and I could see in the rear view mirror that while holding Mommy’s hand she kept looking at my car door hoping I was about to join her. The confused look on her face as I didn’t leave the vehicle wrenched the heart right out of my chest. I can guarantee this girl is going to bring her Daddy to tears someday. Just hope it isn’t too embarrassing for her sobbing old man when it happens.

Big Girl. Walk.
Busy weekend. On Saturday we took another drive with the babies.
It is always fun to listen to Kate as she shows her vocabulary while looking out the window watching the world. Sean likes to nap in the car and when he is awake he usually just either looks out the window or at his sister. Kate spends a lot of time entertaining her brother. Hearing them laugh at each other is wonderful and fun.
We went to Dawson's birthday party and both babies had a blast. Kate ran around trying to keep up with the boys. They caught butterflies, played in the sprinklers, played in a Spiderman tent, played with moon sand and play dough! Busy and fun! Kate came home covered in dirt and little scratches from all of her adventures!
When Kate knows that we are close to our destination she always says, "Big girl, Walk!" She likes to spend as much time out of the stroller or shopping cart as possible. She cannot always be trusted but she is getting better each day.
