Weaning

Yeah he took a step today and that was great, but we are also trying to wean him with results that are questionable at best. After some effort the poor guy seems curious with the bottle nipple, but the moment that the formula touches his taste buds it is as if someone dropped liquid poop on his tongue. He gets really distressed and let’s loose vocally at a surprisingly high level. That’s after you spend the 45 minutes it takes just to get him to accept the idea of letting his lips touch the strange new faux nipple. If you have ever tasted formula you would know why he becomes so displeased…the stuff is disgusting! And believe me that last sentence deserved the exclamation point. Katy loves milk and is naturally jealous of any attention the boy gets. When I brought out his bottle of milk she really wanted first crack at it…so I gave it to her…WOW! He face immediately convulsed as she spit the putrid substance from her mouth. She then began to wipe at her tongue with her little hand and looked at me as if I had betrayed her. From that moment forward she made the clear distinction of “baby” milk. The good news is it was the first night she ever went to bed without a bottle.
