Father's Day

My first father’s day with Sean. He is really making headway now…walking, getting gabby, feeding his curiosity and getting into trouble are now his pursuits…oh, and eating. This kid can EAT! You cannot allow even a crumb of food to lay idle anywhere within his ever-widening grasp. It has become important to the level of urgency to keep a pacifier in his mouth, simply to keep a cork over his pie hole and avoid another call to poison control. Tonight it was a green crayon, who knows what else he is capable of ingesting. I am telling you, this kid is going to be a paste eater in school. Then there's the girl, who eats like a bird. You can’t pay this girl to take a bite of food. And when she makes her mind up she is really stubborn about it. Always has been. Even when you do find an acceptable vehicle of sustenance she will let you know when she is, “ALLLLLL DONE!” and you might as well give up at that point. She really spent a lot of time running and laughing today, and enjoyed spending time with her Nana. Being daddy on Father’s day is good stuff.
