Where's Mommy?
I got to stay home alone with the kids for a couple of hours tonight. They kept me pretty busy and they both managed to weather the ordeal uninjured. At some point during the evening I came to the realization that I very seldom am alone with my children. You don’t realize how much you lean on Mommy until she is gone. The kids got along pretty well, but later in the evening the boy also came to the realization that Mommy was not about and really had to be coaxed out of his tears using all of Kate and my persuasive abilities. Kate CAN be very persuasive. She really gave the boy good hugs and kisses when he was the most upset. Once he calmed down we all spent the rest of our evening playing with blocks. Usually I only read one book at bedtime for Kate, but tonight I gave her two since she was so helpful with the boy. Right after I got the kids changed and down Michelle showed up just in time to give the kids kisses. They weren’t the only ones glad to have her back.
