Kiss

Woke up as usual this morning, to Kate hollering from her crib and the boy screaming from his. I used to love my Bose alarm clock. There is no snooze button on my new clock. After we get the dirty diapers changed we turn our attention to the milk. Kate is still not used to being without her bottle in the morning and is very determined repeating the phrase, “bobble milk! Bobble Milk! BOBBLE MILK!!!” The boy on the other hand has never liked a bottle and went straight to a sippy cup. He needs no coaxing at all to knock out his cup in record time, meanwhile the girl has to be sold the idea using our best persuasive techniques (along with a touch of Nestle’s Quik). It’s a pretty normal morning. The only exception is upon my exit in the morning. It has been pretty normal for everyone to kiss Daddy and wave bye-bye, but this morning was the first morning that Kate asked for, “kiss daddy, kiss” as I was heading for the door. The boy was all smiles as usual. Mom was impressed by her daughter, and I went to work with a little extra spring in my step. That afternoon Michelle stopped by the office and the kids had a great time exploring my office. The boy was taking steps between Sam and I, but the girl is still a little shy around men. By the time Sam was leaving she was saying “bye-bye am…bye-bye am” Had a very nice evening tonight with only minimal and momentary despair from babies, though you would think the calamity was titanic to hear those two sounding off. Good stuff all…can’t wait for my alarm clock to go off tomorrow.
