These kids are great in the car! We spent over five hours in the van today and neither of them cried once. Katie loves elevators. At the bank yesterday she kept saying, "Daddy, elevator NOW" and today she got to push all of the elevator buttons since she is tall enough. "Mommy walk" is what I hear every time I stop the vehicle. Kate ran around Trader Joes, first she got a byuuu balloon, then she picked up groceries 'for me'. They were giving out samples of a beet and mandarin orange dish and Kate ate two samples. Then she said she wanted a cookie. I didn't have any cookies but the lady behind he counter heard Kate and came out with a chocolate cookie for our princess.
Sean was his usual easy going self. He enjoyed the trip a lot just laughing at the helium balloon bouncing over his stroller. My little guy smiled at me and laughed so hard when he saw me after our long journey. He now uses walking as his preferred mode of transportation. He does the Frankenstein walk with his hands out. Sean loves it when his sister tickles him and they manage to entertain each other quite a lot throughout the day. God Bless our babies!
Daddy arrived home shortly after us. What a treat to have him home early. We visited our neighbors and Chris took Kate out to the deck to play while he cooked bratwurst for dinner. Sean watched through the screen door while Mommy cooked indoors and Daddy cooked outdoors. I glanced over at Sean and noticed that he was outside. I assumed that Chris let him out but I was concerned about his proximity to the grill. I noticed that the screen door was wide open. I walked outside. Chris and Kate both had their backs to us as they looked over the rail. When he turned around Chris was surprised to see Sean. Our big boy opened the screen door himself and wandered outside. Oh boy. He is going to keep us jumping!
Sweet life.
