I went through Kate's closet today because it was overflowing with clothes and many no longer fit or will be out of season when they will fit. I pulled out a lot of items and placed them on the floor while I worked. Kate became very interested in her discarded clothing. She asked me to take off what she was wearing. I thought that she just wanted to get naked (see previous posts) but then she tried on an outfit, a tie dye shirt and red cord overalls. Then she asked me to take off the clothes and she tried on another outfit and another and another. She ended up in a dressy pink dress that she wore to a friend's wedding (Karin) last year. It fit her so well that I am going to hang on to it for her second birthday pictures. She kept her pink pants under it and did not want to try anything else on.
So Kate spent the rest of the afternoon all dressed up. We greeted Daddy in the driveway when he came home and she walked around the yard with him in her outfit (socks, no shoes) while Chris pulled dandelions from our dandelion infested lawn. We came inside for dinner and I refused to let her wear the dress while eating macaroni and cheese so she had a fit. I put the pink tie dye shirt back on her (one of my favorites) and she really dug into her mac and cheese and kept asking for more while her mouth was full! After dinner it was right to bed so I hung up the dress and told her she can wear it again tomorrow if she likes.
Sean has not made any progress in the weaning department. We went to the DR today and she suggested Next Step formula. I purchased a can tonight-only available in size huge. We will see if Sean will accept this-if not the DR said we can use milk if we give him vitamins with iron too. We shall see.
We were concerned about Sean's breathing because sometimes he sounds like he is struggling for air, but all seems well. Wow he is really fighting me during diaper changes now. It is very difficult to change him and I prefer to do it on the floor now since I worry he could roll off of the table. You can not take your eyes off of this boy. He is fast and determined. He likes electrical outlets, any cord, and whatever is totally inappropriate!
Sean's weight today was 19 pounds, 15 ounces.
We are all tired tonight.
