Ummmmmm!

I arrived home from work to find my mother enjoying a little time with the children and they were all three playing together. I entered the room to an appreciative welcome by my son and a playful one by my daughter. The boy got really excited as I entered the room and drew me in like a magnet. After greeting him I turned my attention to the girl who was obviously ready to play. “Up Daddy Up!” she beckons as she backs up to me. She expects to be bounced into the air while she squeals with joy, and I am glad to do it…for a price. All she has to do is kiss daddy for a ride…a trick she learned quickly and is swift to use. Even though I feel a little spent from the day and would like to relax, it’s great to see her enjoy herself. She doesn’t want it to end though and persists until I am forced to say no. After a few more minutes Michelle has dinner ready and we all make our way to the dinner table. The boy always eats well, and tonight he has half an avocado and some Cheerios. All he asks is to keep it coming, and he will let you know if you are not prompt with the next spoonful. The girl is still getting a feel for using silverware…and let’s just say she still has a way to go. She seems capable of filling up the spoon with food, but something happens on the way to the mouth and at least half of the grub falls to the lap…or floor…or down her shirt…or in her hair…or in Sean’s hair. She takes it all in stride and is really expressive of her food pleasure. Ummmm…UMMMM! UMMMMMMM!!! After dinner is over I put each of the babies down for night night. The boy is good at playing possum until I leave the room. Smart kid…gonna have to keep an eye on him. As for the girl, she has started using the L word. As I tuck her in she starts with, “love love Momma.” Followed closely by “love love Nana” and “love love baby.” I was wondering if she was going to get to me. As I was walking out of the room I hear her last words of the night…”love love Daddy”
