Gettin' Cozy

Wow I am always so tired when I write this blog at the end of the day. I think that what I want most for Mother's Day is sleep! Today is Friday. Sean napped in Kate's room today. Kate and I watched Monsters Inc in the bedroom and stretched out and cozy in the king bed. It was so comfy and Kate was very sweet and cuddly, She would hug my arm and say "Awwww Mama" She rested her head on my chest while we watched the movie. It was a real treat.

Sean is always a little love bug and today was no exception. He lie in my arms while I rocked him and he was wide awake just relaxing and enjoying the company.

Chris came home early and we drove up to his cousin's church for a Mother / Daughter dinner. Chris dropped me off with the kids and we had a nice dinner with Lori, Jessica and Luanne. Then we moved into the auditorium. Kate was getting antsy by this time and show was running around while they were starting up the show they had planned. Jessica got up to sing and it was lovely. By the end of her number, Kate was running up to the stage and made it halfway up the steps. She is getting faster and more agile. I took her out into the lobby and left Sean with Jessica.

In the lobby Kate ran up and down the hall. There was no end to her supply of energy. She climbed stairs, discovered water fountains and played in the nursery. She was greeted by people going in and out of the auditorium, most with smiles, some with annoyance. Finally the doors were shut to keep out her excited sounds. Jess gave me Sean and I had both babies but no stroller or diaper bag or phone to call for Chris to retrieve me! Since I had both kids and no stroller I really couldn't enter the darkened auditorium to get anything-really all I wanted was my phone to call for my husband to break me out! I was out there for close to two hours and it felt like 10. A young girl was kind enough to go get the stroller for me a 9:10 pm. I called Chris and asked him to pick me up immediately. The crowd let out and Luanne was out of there way before me. Kate took off again and this time I spotted her on the stage after she quickly scaled the five steps. Exhausted I grabbed her and Sean, made my way to the entrance and there was Chris ready to pick us up.

We pack up the babies in the car and start our drive. I explain to Chris my frustration at having the kids but no stroller or diaper bag, milk or formula. Getting remarks from children about Kate's behavior and chasing the kids while in heels for hours waiting for the show to cease. I asked Chris how his night was and he had a good time shooting guns with Dennis, Alex, Blair and the local beauty queen and her hot friend. They made movies of their adventure and shared hysterical laughter then dined at a local bar before returning to their wives at the Baptist Church. In other words, they suck.
